A painting commemorating the Dulwich Hamlet team lifting the
Ryman Division One South Trophy at the end of the 2012/13 season, was unveiled on
Saturday 26th April 2014. Club captain Peter Adeniyi performed the
task in the Hamlet boardroom before a handful of distinguished guests. In a short speech Peter recounted how he was first
brought to Dulwich through Martin Eede, who was present. His second spell at Dulwich, this time under
Gavin Rose, followed a trek round various non-league clubs in the South East. Yet in his entire career, he had not witnessed anything like the support seen at Champion Hill these
last few years.
The painting by Hannah Dunphy is entitled ‘Champions 2013’
and is based on a photograph by Mike Urban of the Brixton Buzz website. It was commissioned
by the Hamlet Historian magazine. Our grateful thanks to Chairman Jack Payne
for giving us permission to display it at the club.
