Moving the goalposts

The following two paragraphs come from the Dulwich Hamlet 75th Anniversary book:

"A piece of ground in Woodwarde Road was secured and practice games were held before the start of the season. The ground was very small and uneven and in wet weather covered with large pools of water, which frequently were frozen, so whenever possible a pitch was obtained in Dulwich Park

There was no accommodation for changing on the Woodwarde Road ground and so the Reading Room in Dulwich Village was used. The goal posts and flags were carried from there through the village and The Crown gardens to the ground. It is interesting to note that there were two Inns, The Crown on the site of the present Crown and Greyhound and the Greyhound on the other side of the road."
